Today is Black Friday which means you probably woke up to approximately 1232138372 emails from every website you’ve ever visited telling you their ‘BEST EVER’ sale is now on. Aaaaand delete. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good browse at the sales but the majority of it is always things you don’t need but because ‘oooo there’s 20% off it!!’ We feel compelled to buy them! I think the best bargains can always be found in the homeware departments as these are things we generally need, from a new toaster to that duvet cover you’ve had your eye on for ages. So, I have had a browse and compiled a list of the homeware items I think are an actual bargain this Black Friday (along with some deer serving spoons because, who doesn’t need those?!) If you happen across any other deals you think I should add- then drop… View Post

Having less screen time is one of the primary ways I switch off from the world and indulge in a little self care. I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to discover them, but podcasts seem to have taken over my life and I am now obsessed with finding new ones to listen to- especially if they are Harry Potter or real life crime related! With a range of hands and wire free ways to listen, such as the Panasonic Speaker System which you can stream your music or podcasts straight through for perfectly balanced sound; you can put your phone to one side and get lost in a world which allows you to completely switch off. Potterless follows twenty-something American Mike Schubert, as he reads… View Post

Up until last month, I had (not exaggerating) around 40 lipsticks sitting in my drawer, never used, just sitting there all pretty and to be honest- dusty! So I had a makeup cleanse- I gave away some to friends and binned A LOT of products I’d had for longer than I care to admit. Why did I need 40 lipsticks? I’ll never know. I went through a bit of an obsession with lip products and accumulated a whole range from high street brands to Chanel and YSL. No one- NO ONE needs that many, especially when you find what works for you and stick with it. This is what I’m calling my signature lip. Everyone has one shade of lipstick they will go for every day. Or in my case- 3 shades. This first product is fairly new to my collection and is a solid 10/10 in the ‘perfect nude… View Post

Let’s get this out there in the first sentence of this post; I SUCK at gardening. Let me give you an example. About 3 years ago, I ordered some plants for the garden. They arrived not as I imagined (already blooming and gorgeous) but like twigs that my dog would pick up on a woodland walk. So utterly confused, I left them outside and forgot about them. Weeks later, after some impressive frost I discovered them again and only one plant looked reasonably alive. So I binned the others and planted the survivor. I was convinced it was an Iris. It remained ‘twig like’ for 2 years with a couple of leaves the second year before getting snapped by some strong wind…as I said, I suck at gardening! This year it bloomed like never before and EVEN HAD A TINY BUD ON IT. Cue all the excitement. So around a… View Post
