Best Thing To Do To Get You In The Festive Spirit? Go Ice Skating Of Course!

Last week was one of the most hectic weeks I’ve had in a long time, you know the ones where you seem to be busy everyday after work and all you really want to do is cosy up on your sofa with a hot chocolate…so antisocial.

But I was, however, excited for Thursday evening as the lovely people at Intu Lakeside invited me (along with a whole host of beaut bloggers) down to experience their brand new Christmas Village & Ice Skating Rink

I went with the lovely Hannah from and we were amazed to see how big the skating rink was!

After grabbing a cheeky hot chocolate (it was obviously bloomin’ freezing in there!) we watched people braving it on the ice rink!
(I say watched because it took us a good hour until we plucked up the courage ourselves!)

The Crystal Bar sells a wide range of drinks from prosecco to mulled wine and hot chocolate!

After trying to get my skates on (lols) for a good ten minutes, I was ready to get on the ice and try not to injure myself!

Deffos not going to win any awards for looking glamorous on ice *facepalm.

after a couple of laps holding onto the side for dear life I called it a day on the rink and left it to the pros!

Intu Lakeside have worked really hard to make the ice rink something special and it really is fab. It’s a great way to get into that festive spirit without leaving Essex!

Santas grotto is just outside the ice rink and looks so magical, sadly it wasn’t quite open for us to go and have a nose but we were told it had a walkthrough to santa which included a whole host of festive magic. It is now open for visits and even includes fab gifts for the children from Playmobil this year!
Booking is available online now for the Ice Skating rink and prices start from £9.75 for adults and £7.75 for under 16’s!

You can find the ice rink and christmas village in car park 3 (you actually cant miss it, its huge!)

Big thanks to Intu Lakeside and Voice Communications for inviting me to the evening

This post is the result of an event but all festive views my own.
