Life Catch Up, Body Image and The Perfect Holiday Beach Bag

IS IT ACTUALLY SUMMER?

Who knows, one minute its so hot I feel like my face is melting and the next, it’s grey and rainy..England huh!

Either way I am ALL about that summer shopping right now. It’s two weeks until we break up from work for summer (high five teachers) and I am so looking forward to having some time to myself to refocus. In all honesty, the last few weeks have been a struggle! It has been a long term at work, and a busy one preparing all our school leavers for their next step alongside some personal worries and it has resulted in me feeling tired, worn out and a little overwhelmed at times.

BUT the holidays are in sight and we have a little trip to Kos to look forward to along with some days out planned and I’m SO READY FOR IT.

Let’s talk summer shopping. I have been searching high and low across the internet for some summer clothes and accessories which will make me feel good and comfortable while also being sassy AF- and honestly gals, it’s so hard to find items that aren’t bum baring/belly baring/arm flab baring. Don’t get me wrong, they look amazing but my self confidence is like ‘HA no my friend, just no’. I have so much respect for you gals out there owning it and rocking the most amazing outfits at any size, I’m just not there myself yet. I think when you are happy with how you look, it’s easy to dress- but when you’re not, blimmin’ heck its difficult! I tend to see fault in everything I see online- it’s either too short, too tight fitting, not enough sleeve and its SO tiring. Someone just gimme a knee length off the shoulder dress with floaty sleeves in every colour and I’m done! However, I have found some pretty bang on summer dresses mainly from Lipsy, Boohoo and Sainsburys (yas!) which ill show you in another post- but if you see any off the shoulder dresses with a bit of a floaty sleeve- hook a girl up!

Accessories are another matter- i have found SO many beaut items I cannot wait to sass around in! I would say a good 80% of them are from Accessorize as they are absolutely smashing the summer vibes at the moment, from cute colourful bracelets and earrings to this gorge beach bag I managed to pick up in the sale a few weeks ago. I actually had my eye on it when it was full price  so when I spied it online for £15 I snapped it up!

Now, I’m not 100% sure it is still online as I couldn’t find it to link to in this post, but I do know they still had a couple in my local Accessorize store so it is well worth checking yours to see if they have it in stock.

It is the perfect size, I managed to fit my swimsuit, beach towel, camera, phone, suncream and a bottle of water all inside at the weekend. On holiday you probably wont be carting all of that around but it gives you an idea on what you could fit inside, without it being too oversized which I find with a lot of beach bags.

Let me know if you manage to get hold of it and send me links to to any other summer essentials you’ve tracked down!

This post is SO relatable, I have barely found any clothes this summer that make me feel comfortable, so I’ve had to settle for last years kimonos! Thank you for sharing, nice to know you’re not alone 🙂

I absolutely love that bag! Perfect beachy type and for the summer. I hope you’ve managed to find some gorgeous summery clothes that you feel amazing in (like your post on the Boohoo dress!). I tend to hate what I look like in everything too but I kinda just roll with it now. I never really shop for summer – because I HATE the heat and tend to just stay indoors for 3 months solid to avoid it haha! xxx
