My Signature Lip Products

Up until last month, I had (not exaggerating) around 40 lipsticks sitting in my drawer, never used, just sitting there all pretty and to be honest- dusty!

So I had a makeup cleanse- I gave away some to friends and binned A LOT of products I’d had for longer than I care to admit.

Why did I need 40 lipsticks? I’ll never know. I went through a bit of an obsession with lip products and accumulated a whole range from high street brands to Chanel and YSL.

No one- NO ONE needs that many, especially when you find what works for you and stick with it.

This is what I’m calling my signature lip. Everyone has one shade of lipstick they will go for every day.

Or in my case- 3 shades.

This first product is fairly new to my collection and is a solid 10/10 in the ‘perfect nude shade’ category.

The Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color in Pink Nude

This product is perfect in pretty much every way, from the texture (a creamy matte) to the colour (a perfect ‘your lips but better’ pink) this is probably the product I’m currently reaching for most in the mornings. Available from Bobbi Brown for £27

A cult favourite among bloggers is the Mac Velvet Teddy lipstick, and it’s easy to see why.

It’s gorgeous comfort matte texture and muted nude shade is perfect for everyday wearing.

If I don’t fancy wearing a pink nude shade, I always choose this, plus it’s the first product I recommend to friends who fancy a change from their usual lip shades. Available at Mac for £17.50

And lastly we have a truly underrated product in my opinion.

The Glossier Generation G lip colour in ‘Like’ is a perfect as a handbag staple for a quick swipe of sheer colour on the lips. Great for on the go and you don’t even need to use a mirror as it’s impossible to go wrong with.

It’s lip balm feel means that it’s hydrating on the lips and dries to a moisturising matte which is great if you struggle with dry lips. Available from Glossier for £14

It’s really lovely as an everyday pop of colour with a moisturise feel so I’d definitely recommend!

Perfect choices! I love the look of the Glossier one! I’m not a big fan of lipsticks, as I feel they dry out my lips, but the balm feel really appeals to me. Lovely post.

Thank you! I struggle with dryness as well but these ones are the few that don’t make my lips dry out 🙂

I’ve heard Glossier actually has some great products, especially if you’re not a full coverage kind of person. Kudos to you for conducting a makeup purge; I too have a collection of lip colors that need to be sorted through. Thank you for sharing!

Their products are definitely aimed at the ‘no makeup, makeup’ look which is great for mornings when you’re in a rush! I’m definitely going to invest in some more of their range. Thanks, it’s never easy parting with makeup is it haha x
