A couple of weeks ago (as you may well know) I turned 30 eeesshh right?!
To ‘celebrate’ leaving my 20’s behind, my friends organised a day in London for me. I have wanted to go to Sushi Samba since my friend Natasha told me about it years ago and we have always spoken about going so this seemed like the perfect occassion!
Sushi Samba is beautifully located on the 39th floor of the Heron tower overlooking stunning views of London. Sadly when we went it was mega foggy which meant we saw very little out of the windows surrounding the whole restaurant.
A little more visable out of the lift windows
We started with a round of glorious cocktails in the bar, i opted for the Nina Fresa which is a fruity mix of strawberry, guava and grapefruit with Ketal One vodka and shaken with rhubarb bitters, sugar and lime. ALL the heart eyed emojis!
Once we were seated in the restaurant we browsed the menu completely baffled as what to order! There is so much choice and everything sounds incredible! Admittedly, if you’re not a huge sushi fan then this probably isn’t the place for you (although they do have chicken and beef on the menu too). After some guidance from the brilliant waiter we selected a whole range of dishes to try between the 4 of us.
Samba London & Ezo Rolls
Everything was amazing, prepared and presented to perfection! Generally I’m not a fan of squid but the girls encouraged me to try it and it actually tasted nothing like I thought! My absolute faves were the Seviche Tuna and the Ezo rolls which were just out of this world (practically drooling on the screen right now-so bloomin’ good). The service can either make or break a restaurant for me, but luckily the guys at Sushi Samba are extremely attentive and are right on hand if (like us) you need a bit of help ordering!
I’d heavily suggest booking as they are known to be extremely busy almost everyday, but it is seriously worth it!
Have you been to Sushi Samba? What’s your favourite dish?
