Last week was one of the most hectic weeks I’ve had in a long time, you know the ones where you seem to be busy everyday after work and all you really want to do is cosy up on your sofa with a hot chocolate…so antisocial.  But I was, however, excited for Thursday evening as the lovely people at Intu Lakeside invited me (along with a whole host of beaut bloggers) down to experience their brand new Christmas Village & Ice Skating Rink.  I went with the lovely Hannah from Hannatalks.com and we were amazed to see how big the skating rink was! After grabbing a cheeky hot chocolate (it was obviously bloomin’ freezing in there!) we watched people braving it on the ice rink!  (I say watched because it took us a good hour until we plucked up the courage ourselves!)  The Crystal Bar sells a wide range of drinks from… View Post

Christmas Eve is a day for baking and finishing wrapping all those presents! Gingerbread is one of my faves to bake on Christmas Eve as it fills the house with a heady ginger/cinnamon scent which really gets you in the festive mood. I decorated my gingerbread with white icing and silver balls. I love the handmade messy look with icing dripping off the edges! If you want to whip up a quick batch of these lovelies then the recipe is below! You will need: 125g unsalted butter 100g dark muscovado sugar 4 tbsp golden syrup 325g plain flour 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda 2 tsp ground ginger A pinch of Cinnamon 1. Pre heat your oven to 170 degrees 2. I used a baking parchment to line my baking tray, you can use greaseproof paper or sprinkle a bit of flour on the tray 3. Melt the butter, sugar and… View Post

It’s happened, I’ve succumbed to the festive delights on offer already. When December hits all intentions of eating properly get thrown out of the beautifully lit window and I find myself saying “let’s have a buffet for dinner”. Said buffet usually consists of ALL the christmassy food and not much veg. You may have read my post back in June where I created an awesome meal from the offerings of the EOE Co Op’s Sourced Locally range. Well guess what. They have launched a whole host of treats just for the festive season all sourced from local producers, so you can eat it and feel good about helping the local economy…win, win! I was very kindly sent a few of the products to have a taste of and wow they didn’t disappoint! These yummy creations are a little spin on the classic walnut whip we all love. The marshmallow inside is… View Post

Last week I was invited along to Lush Chelmsford for their Halloween and Christmas new product launch. After having Snow Fairy withdrawals for the last 10 months I was especially looking forward to this event! Off I went, armed with a Pumpkin spiced Latte (standard). Wendy and the team talked us through all of the new and returning products and there are A LOT! Like..I’m going to have to find another income to afford all the newness and amazing smelling magical bath treats New for Halloween is this cute bat Shower Jelly called ‘NightWing’ along with the returning ‘Sparkly Pumpkin’ bubble bar and the ‘Lord of Misrule’ bath bomb (my fave!). We then had a look at the many Christmas products…if you are an avid Lush fan…you will NOT be disappointed! A lot of our faves from last year are back along with a whole host of new goodies! This… View Post
