It’s a brand new year, and guess what, the unimaginable has happened. Yes, I have found skincare that actually works for me! Absolute years I have spent trying to find skincare products that work for me, and as a woman in her early 30’s, I have become very aware of the need to start some form of routine to care for my skin. My face shows signs of being 31, I have scarring from acne, a greyness under my eyes and before long I know my age will begin to show across my face. Luckily at the moment, people don’t tend to realise I am over 25 which is lovely, but I need to start taking care of myself before I do start physically ageing. I am not overly concerned about ageing as a whole. My mum who is in her 50’s has amazing skin and looks young for her… View Post

Colchester is a town that has many a restaurant, and I enjoy finding new places to eat with friends and explore on date night with the husband. However I often find myself wanting something a little different- enter Turtle Bay! Opening on the high street in Colchester town centre is this Caribbean cocktail heaven. I was invited along to their preview evening this week before they open on the 4th December. On arrival, we were treated to Reggae Rum Punch, a fruity cocktail with a twist of bitters and lime and oh my it was delicious! We chatted to the restaurant manager and then had a little tour around the restaurant including a peek at where the magic happens-the kitchen. Turtle Bay restaurants were founded by Ajith Jaya-Wickrema who also founded the chain restaurant Las Iguanas. He wanted to bring a restaurant to the UK that combined great food, great… View Post

It’s November, it’s cold and the jumpers are officially back in the wardrobe as a winter staple! If you’re looking for a jumper with a twist, a bit of sparkle or just want to feel snug as a bug, then don’t worry- I got you! I have trawled the shops for the cosiest sassiest jumpers, so you don’t have to, and as of publishing this post, they are all still available in store/online. Thank me later. Spoiler: 3 out of 4 involve pearls First up, we have the jumper I’m most obsessed with at the moment. I’m all about the pearl embellishment right now so as soon as I saw this, I fell in love. It is SUPER soft and not at all itchy which let’s face it, can be a major issue with chunky jumpers. I love the bell sleeve details and as it’s slightly oversized, it just envelopes… View Post

Warning: this post contains detailed chat about bowel movements so if you’re sensitive to that, maybe scroll on past to the next post!  There are hundreds of invisible illnesses that people suffer from on a daily basis from mental health to chronic pain all dehibilitating to the person in question and all life changing to some extent. For me, this invisible illness is Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). IBS is a bowel condition which affects 1 in 5 of us, meaning that no doubt, someone close to you also suffers.  The symptoms range from mild stomach pains to full on cramps, and either constipation or the complete opposite. In my case, it presents itself as severe contraction like cramps with accompanied diarrhoea which tends to either leave me vomiting from the pain or even passing out.  As with many invisible illnesses, there is no cure. No magic wand to wave or… View Post
