I have been trying to write this post for an absolute age but honestly, my health kind of took a back seat in July which is 100% NOT okay! I struggled to eat well, exercise and generally felt run down and bleugh!  I think it was that end of term feeling, and as I’ve said before, summer term is always a busy and full on one- so now the holidays are here, I get to spend time on myself and do things I just didn’t have the energy for a few weeks ago.  Writing I am making time to do what interests me and what relaxes me, so writing and photography are right up there! I have mainly spent this first week of the holidays relaxing, cleaning the house, binge watching Netflix originals and cuddling the dogs but everyday I felt this pang of sadness that I wasn’t making time… View Post

Benefit are a brand I have been buying from for what feels like forever. I always remember when I was in secondary school and a girl in my R.E class pulled out a Benetint, telling us her sister worked for the brand and how good it was. A few years later I was a complete fan.  There are few products I dislike from Benefit and they certainly know how to do a relaunch of old favourites alongside adding exciting new products.  Their newest launch has been a range of concealer including four versions of the Boi-ing classic.  I popped along to my local Fenwicks last week to have my brows done by the babes at the Bene-brow bar and they applied some of the Boi-ing airbrush concealer to me afterwards where my makeup had come off and OH MY.  When Benefit say airbrush, they definitely mean it. My skin looked… View Post

Oh, hi! I know, an actual new post! It is now the summer holidays for me which means I might actually be able to concentrate on writing (and sleeping) for a little while- yay  I recently shared a post where I chatted briefly about body image and summer clothing, mainly about how hard I find it to find something comfortable but also (reasonably) stylish and flattering. I searched high and low across the inter-webs and honestly, it was ridiculously hard to find something I actually liked.  Enter Boohoo and this floral dreamboat. Now, I am by NO means a fashion blogger (lols to taking these photos on my driveway and being super awks whenever anyone walked past and can we just discuss how hard it is taking photos using a tripod and timer!), If I like something and it fits its generally a winner. OH and sleeves- it needs sleeves! … View Post

I feel like I am probably the only person in the world who has this opinion but I CAN’T STAND MATTE LIPSTICKS. There, I said it.  I have found around 3 matte lipsticks I can actually bare wearing and they are by Mac, Charlotte Tilbury and Chanel. I constantly have dry lips despite drinking gallons of water and applying lip balm by the bucket load so matte lipsticks do not work for me.  Going to sound like the worst blogger now, but i haven’t actually purchased a new lipstick in about 6 months (oh, the horror). Once I find a lip product I love, I find it difficult to move away from it and try something new. Lately it’s been a mix of Charlotte Tilbury’s Bitch Perfect and Mac’s Peach Blossom- ultimate old faves! BUT, I had a trip to my local Boots after work this week to pick up… View Post

Last week I took a trip down to Fenwick in Colchester for their Meet the Designers event, where they showcased some of the most beautiful pieces as well as having some of the brands in house to meet with us. I’m one of those people that is guilty of just sticking to the same pieces of jewellery everyday. Although I love jewellery, I just find it hard to pair pieces together and I guess I tend to avoid wearing much of it because of the nature of my job- who wants to wear a necklace you love only for a lovely little 2 year old to grab hold of it..not me. I do own some nice jewellery mainly from Pandora and Tiffany & co -as more classic pieces but it was so nice to go and view some trendy jewellery I could wear everyday. Fenwick have something for everyone in… View Post
