You may have noticed I’ve been a bit quiet on the ol’ blogging front, I felt a bit ‘meh’ about it for a while (ok nearly all of September) but after giving myself a shake, reading some inspiring blogs and playing about with my Olympus Pen, I’m back.  I thought about coming back with an intense life post but these ‘favourites’ type posts are the ones I love to read, so here, an easy read for you which may leave your bank balance a bit lighter by the end, soz not soz.  Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic I KNOW, I’m so late to the party as usual with this one but OMG. This stuff is like actual magic. After my holiday in August, my skin needed a bit of a pick me up. So perusing my local M&S I spied the much loved among bloggers Pixi Glow Tonic and thought YES,… View Post

On Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to Chop Bloc in Chelmsford, Essex to sample some of their menu and learn all about their love of meat! I have never been a huge meat fan, there was even one point (maybe two) where i went vegetarian, purely because I’m proper fussy when it comes to meat.  Needless to say, it didnt last long. My love of bacon and steak got the better of me!  Back to Thursday night, I arrived early and met the lovely Hannah (@hannatalks) beforehand for a quick coffee and catch up before taking our hungry tummies over to Chop Bloc.  We met Steve and Dave who are the owners and were hosting the evening. Both have a history in the meat business, and their family have been working with people in the industry for many years, so they have brilliant connections. This means that Steve and… View Post

I am your typical foodie, obsessed with food, always thinking about my next meal and always trying to be healthy and then being all like yeah this burger/pizza/insert all the food here is immense. So when I was recently given the opportunity to visit a brand new eatery at the Intu Lakeside food court I obviously couldn’t refuse. Stampede* is essentially a burger bar but what they offer in terms of food and quality makes them a cut above the rest! Firstly, their set up in the food hall is pretty special. From the bull made from metal scrap parts to the neon pink signage, you definitely can’t miss them!  Cute jars of pork scratchings on the counter Their brilliant menu consists of burgers, ribs and wings along with a pretty amazing sides selection! The burgers are grilled over charcoal for that amazing bbq taste, meaning everything is freshly prepared and… View Post

I had a really lazy Saturday last weekend, I mean, I didn’t get out of cosy clothes and just spent the day perusing social media. Life. So on Sunday I really wanted to get up and do something a bit different. I made the husband get up with me and forced him into trying some yoga (he lasted 10 minutes). But actually, we both said afterwards how much better we felt for doing it so I’m going to do the 30 day yoga challenge and see if it’s something I get into. I’ll sort out another post dedicated to this and fill you in on the best Yoga YouTubers! Anyway, I’d seen Hannah Gale tweet about the Suffolk Food Hall a few times and as it’s only about 35 mins from us decided it would be a good place to go to get us out of the house! Suffolk is… View Post

It’s happened, I’ve succumbed to the festive delights on offer already. When December hits all intentions of eating properly get thrown out of the beautifully lit window and I find myself saying “let’s have a buffet for dinner”. Said buffet usually consists of ALL the christmassy food and not much veg. You may have read my post back in June where I created an awesome meal from the offerings of the EOE Co Op’s Sourced Locally range. Well guess what. They have launched a whole host of treats just for the festive season all sourced from local producers, so you can eat it and feel good about helping the local economy…win, win! I was very kindly sent a few of the products to have a taste of and wow they didn’t disappoint! These yummy creations are a little spin on the classic walnut whip we all love. The marshmallow inside is… View Post
