If you’re anything like me, you’ll be the type of person who is forever looking for new kinds of food to try. I’m not someone who will stick to one type of food when looking for somewhere to brunch with friends or dine on date night. I enjoy finding something different, something with new flavours and dishes and also somewhere that’s Instagrammable is an absolute plus. Well Turtle Bay in Colchester covers all of this! I attended the opening of this restaurant a few months ago where we got to try some samples from the menu which were all amazing so this time I decided to drag my friend Tarnya along with me to try some dishes of our choice. We started the only way you should in Turtle Bay…with Cocktails. Lucky for us it was happy hour and we got 2 for 1 on each of our drinks. I… View Post

Colchester is a town that has many a restaurant, and I enjoy finding new places to eat with friends and explore on date night with the husband. However I often find myself wanting something a little different- enter Turtle Bay! Opening on the high street in Colchester town centre is this Caribbean cocktail heaven. I was invited along to their preview evening this week before they open on the 4th December. On arrival, we were treated to Reggae Rum Punch, a fruity cocktail with a twist of bitters and lime and oh my it was delicious! We chatted to the restaurant manager and then had a little tour around the restaurant including a peek at where the magic happens-the kitchen. This stuff is like actual magic. After my holiday in August, my skin needed a bit of a pick me up. So perusing my local M&S I spied the much loved among bloggers Pixi Glow Tonic and thought YES,… View Post

On Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to Chop Bloc in Chelmsford, Essex to sample some of their menu and learn all about their love of meat! I have never been a huge meat fan, there was even one point (maybe two) where i went vegetarian, purely because I’m proper fussy when it comes to meat.  Needless to say, it didnt last long. My love of bacon and steak got the better of me!  Back to Thursday night, I arrived early and met the lovely Hannah (@hannatalks) beforehand for a quick coffee and catch up before taking our hungry tummies over to Chop Bloc.  We met Steve and Dave who are the owners and were hosting the evening. Both have a history in the meat business, and their family have been working with people in the industry for many years, so they have brilliant connections. This means that Steve and… View Post
